If you’re looking for a city from which you can enjoy urban, rustic and even wildlife experiences, then say hello to Melbourne.
It was the wee hours of a cold morning when we arrived in Melbourne — we being the Malaysian media group assembled by Tourism Australia for a familiarisation tour of the city and its surrounding areas... more

Yoga, S.S., February 2010, ‘The Melbourne Identity’, the star online, Travel & Adventure.< http://thestar.com.my/lifestyle/story.asp?file=/2010/2/27/lifetravel/5721202&sec=lifetravel>, [Accessed 6 Oct 2010.]

Based on a Malaysian journalist point of view, in Yoga’s experience and article, she quoted ‘If you’re looking for a city from which you can enjoy urban, rustic and even wildlife experiences, then say hello to Melbourne.’ Indeed this is true, according to some surveys and studies Melbourne has been rank as one of the top 10 most liveable cities in the world, overtaking Sydney Australia as one of their rivalry. Just check out askmen.com, Melbourne rank as number two on their site, right after New York which took the top spot, reason being, ‘Melbourne is affordable, stylish and laid-back; basically all of our favorite qualities in a city.’ (askmen.com, 2010)

Back to Yoga’s article, due to the new recent Emirate Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne route, her team was given a chance by Tourism Australia to promote and publicize Melbourne. She states that the city of Melbourne was ‘indeed big on culture and arts, natural wonders, food, sports and thrills of many kinds.’ She enjoyed the “bipolar” weather, the suburban area, wildlife, food and shopping.

Judging by her article, the Eureka Sky deck represented the image of the city of Melbourne with her expression on the Eureka Sky deck “The Edge”, ‘leaves you with the unnerving sensation. If you have only time to do one thing in Melbourne, make sure it is this.’

Basically, the city of Melbourne has a lot to offer. It is thrilling, awesome, and a great city to consider living in.
